Pope Francis stars in movie

The leader of the worldwide Catholic Church stars in a movie to become the first Pope to do that.

The movie, which was released in October this year, is based on the gospels.

Pope Francis is reported to have asked the filmmakers to develop a movie that communicate Jesus’ message to children.

Proceeds from the sales of the movie will be used to support children related charities in the Pope’s home country of Argentina.

The financier and producer of the movie, Ambi Pictures, with co-founder Andrea Iervolino expressed their excitement in featuring the Pope in the movie; "Our excitement and gratitude toward His Holiness, Pope Francis participating in this film is beyond words.”

The producers stated the significance of the movie. “This is not just a movie for us, it’s a message, and who better to have on your side to deliver an important societal and spiritual message than the Pope."
