The cordial relationship between Kenyatta and Mahama is no secret. After all at a time they were considered as the faces of a youthful, democratic continent.

Mahama who served as the head of the Commonwealth Group's observer mission to Kenya during the country's disputed election in August was a guest at the country's Jamhuri Day celebrations on December 12 at the Moi International Sports Center in Kasarani.

He later joined president Kenyatta at a devolution conference for the East African county's incoming governors.

A host of Kenyans were not to enthused by the presence of Ghana's ex president after the images of his visit went public and let loose on Twitter.
