Partey and Atsu named in CAF best player list

The awards will be held in Ghana

CAF has named Ghana's Thomas Partey and Christian Atsu to its 30 man list for the African Footballer of the Year award.

The duo have been rewarded for their fine forms for their clubs Atletico Madrid and Newcastle respectively in the current season with Partey especially coming to the fore in national team colours as well.

The winner will be decided by votes from the Head Coaches/Technical Directors of the National Associations affiliated to CAF, members of the CAF Technical and Development Committee and a panel of Media Experts.

Egyptian star Mohammed Salah is the favourite to pick up the award after a brilliant season that saw him lead Egypt to the World Cup for the first since 1990.
