19-year-old driver jailed for 8 years after he pleaded guilty of kidnapping and defiling 13-year-old girl

Chief Inspector Bernard Annor narrated to the court that the complainant is father of the victim who brought her from a former School, Ofankor Primary in Accra to Koforidua- Asokore to continue her education.The prosecutor said on September 20, the victim left home to repair her school bag, but did not return.
Inspector Annor said the complainant got a tip-off from his Mother In-Law that the victim was with the convict at Akwadum, after several days of search for her.He then lodged a complaint with the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Units, (DOVVSU) at the Eastern Regional Police Headquarters, leading to the arrest of the convict.

Upon interrogation, the victim revealed that she had been with the convict and was defiled for the entire one month of stay with him.
A medical report confirmed the victim had been defiled and the convict admitted the offence with the excuse that the victim was his girlfriend.
