This is where you can find delicious African food in France

Established by Senegalese, French-born Fati Niang, Black Spoon lays claim as Paris’s first African food truck.

As Nollywood is to Nigeria, so is food to France.

France is popularly regarded as the food capital of the world, boasting some of the most renowned culinary institutions and chefs.

But while French food can be very cream-and-butter, the average African's palate tends to tilt in a different direction. Thus, the need to fill this gap, and share the African culture and experience with the French led to the birth of Black Spoon.

Heavily influenced by Niang's native Senegal, the menu features three main dishes (two Senegalese and one Malian, which sell for $10 (roughly N2,000)  to $11 each, two side dishes and a new addition every month from a different African nation.

There is also the hugely popular Tiep bou dien, which is a fish-and-rice platter, and considered to be the Senegalese national dish.

Having managed to overcome the challenge of sourcing African ingredients, you can also count of finding tasty treats like exotic sodas flavored with baobab and hibiscus and plantains.

So, need some good, ol' spicy food while in France? Head on to the Black Spoon, meanwhile check out an in-depth review on Ozy.
