Midfielder set for pay rise at Arsenal

Arsenal have kicked off negotiations with Mesut Ozil over a new contract which will hand him a pay rise
 
 

Despite not being able to fully convince many with his performances for Arsenal since his big money move from Real Madrid, Mesut Ozil is set for a pay rise.

According to , the German midfielder have been approached by Arsenal to renew his contract.

The 26-year-old is one of the first team stars at Arsenal the club wants to quickly tie down with a long term contract.

The Germany international is already the club's top earner on £140,000-per-week and will expect to earn more once he signs the new contract.

Other players who Arsene Wenger want to discuss contract extension with include Nacho Monreal, who has already been offered a three- year deal.
