2017/2018 Academic Year Wesley Girls High School and Adisadel College vow to reject 50% of its admission intake

Some top second cycle institutions in the central region of Ghana have hinted of a possible cut down in its regular admission intake for the 2017/2018 academic year.

This development has been propelled by the lack of infrastructure in these schools to accommodate freshmen moving forward.

The government of Ghana has revealed to Ghanaians of its intentions to roll out the Free Senior High School Programme in 2017/2018 academic year.

However, some schools may hinder its progress due to inadequate facilities to even accommodate their regular admission intake.

Authorities in Adisadel college in Cape Coast say the will cut down its regular intake by 50 percent.

In 2015/2016 academic year, the college reduced its intake of 920 students to 423 in 2016/2017 academic year.

Addressing the audience at the colleges’ 107th speech and prize giving day, the headmaster of the college William Kusi Yeboah stated that, the school will continue to reject students until accommodation facilities and other infrastructural needs are improved.

Wesley Girls Senior High, Ghana National College, Academy of Christ the King among other schools are also vowing to reduce their intake.

Authorities in Wesley Girls Senior High say they will not compromise their enviable academic standing for quantity.
