‘You are in safe hands’ – IGP assures Ghanaians
IGP David Asante-Apeatu says Ghanaians are in safe hands despite the recent attacks on the security service personeel.

According to him, Ghanaians are in safe hands and can be rest assured that the Police will do its best to protect their lives and properties, as well as ensure peace in the country.

Ghana has been blighted by security concerns in recent years following a series of lawless and criminal incidents.

The latest was last Sunday’s attack on the Kwabenya Police Headquarters, where an armed gang invaded the police station and murdered the officer on duty, before freeing seven other suspects who were being kept in the cells.
The incident has led to many raising concerns about the country’s security situation, especially with other criminal and lawless cases of such nature recorded in recent times.
However, the IGP insists his outfit is still committed and will not be shaken by the recent attacks on police officers.
He assured that the security of the country is intact despite the rise in criminal cases, as well as attacks on security officers.

“We are behind our men. We are assured and reassure them that things that have happened is not going to break our resolve to protect the people of this country and they should continue that it is our sworn mandate to continue to protect lives and properties and maintain law and order in this country,” Asante-Apeatu said, as quoted by Starrfmonline.
“Once we are upping our game in protecting lives and properties, Ghanaians must be assured that they are in safe hands.”
Meanwhile, the Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery, says government has not lost control of the country’s security.
According to him, the state is doing all it can to ensure that all citizens are safe.
“There are challenges with our security and we will deal with it. Has government lost controloversecurity? No. Can we do better? Yes…And we are going to work together to deal with the issue,” he said during an interaction with the media.
