The Phobians left Accra last Saturday for Tripoli to engage in a two separate friendly games with Libyan giants Al Ahly but they got thumped 5-0 in the two games.
The first game which was played last week Tuesday saw the Libyan outfit outmuscled the Ghanaian side to win the game 3-0 and last Friday in the second game, the former Ghana premier league champions failed to redeem their image as they lost 2-0.
However, the club’s Public Relation Officer, Kwame Opare Addo has stated that despite the results on the field of play their trip to Libya was very positive.
“If you want to talk about the results on the field of play then you can say that we didn’t do well but looking at the other aspects then I will say it was a positive trip. Because it gave the coach the opportunity to assess the new players and he will make his final decisions on whether they are good to play for Hearts of Oak or not.” Opare Addo told Happy FM.
Hearts of Oak last Sunday successfully arrived in Ghana and they will be continuing their pre-season training ahead of the start of the Ghana Premier League.
