The Gushiegu Midwifery School has recalled the pregnant student, Cecilia Awuni to school to write her final examination.
A standoff ensued between students of the Gushegu Midwifery Training School and the authorities of the institution when the latter asked the pregnant student not to sit for the on-going exams.
Sources suggest that the order was given by the principal of the Training School Rukaya Alhassan.
The institution had said that it was only acting on orders from the Midwifery Council, adding that this is not the first time pregnant students have been prevented from writing exams.

But the Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Felix Nyanteh, told Accra-based Joy FM that the nursing student who was removed from an examination hall because she is pregnant may be given a second opportunity to take the exam.
"Pregnancy is not self-imprisonment so students should not be prevented from taking an exam. When we hear of such issues we come in to intervene," he said.
The student was on Thursday afternoon called to the school to meet the counselling team.
She was subsequently asked to report on Friday morning to take part in the ongoing examination.
Her lawyers had earlier indicated that they will sue the school over the incident.
But they are yet to indicate whether they will go ahead with the action following the latest development.
