A Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho has called on sympathisers of the party to get themselves off social media platforms and register as members.
His comment follows the NDC’s decision to re-register all its members and sympathisers manually
He said on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM that he expects all party sympathisers to get involved.
“Leave Facebook, Whatsapp, and others. Go to branches and polling stations to get yourself involved in activities there to register for your membership. Please leave there and go down.”
“After that, we can come back to reactivate. Only those whose names will be on the register are those who will have the opportunity to take part in our internal elections,” Anyidoho added.

This is after a frustrating biometric method registration which caused disaffection among some members of the NDC.
Most of the party supporters believe this issue also contributed to their defeat in the 2016 elections.
At a press conference Tuesday, the party’s National Chairman, Kofi Portuphy, said the biometric roll “did not meet the standards required to make it qualified to be a biometric register”.
