During a campaign rally, NAPO acknowledged the contributions of former Ghanaian presidents but remarked on the late Professor John Evans Atta Mills, which has drawn significant criticism. While speaking in Twi, he listed the former presidents and referred to the late President Mills as "the dead one."

"Dr Hilla Liman has done his part, Dr Rawlings has done his part, John Agyekum Kuffour has also done his part, the other one that is dead, Dr Atta Mills, also came to do small," he said.
