The actor announced his withdrawal from the race after it emerged that he is not a registered voter in the Constituency.

He was seeking to enter parliament after demise of the Member of Parliament for the area, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko.

Meanwhile a statement from the NDC in the constituency said he withdrew from the race with another candidate, Ewoenam Y. A. Attidokpo, over "some personal reasons.”

Eight persons had expressed interest to contest the NDC primaries to be elected as the parliamentary candidate but only 3 persons have successfully filed their nomination.

The three are Mr. Ekwow Acquah, Mr. Delali Kwasi Brempong and Madam Donna Selassie Agbo.
