First lady of China suffers make-up mishap

The First Lady of China, Madame Peng Liyuan, suffered an unfortunate make-up mishap as she arrived at the Lord Mayor's banquet.

The couple arrived at a lavish banquet held in his honour at the Guildhall in London's financial district.

But the fashion conscious, Madame Peng Liyuan, who has already stepped out in several outfits during the first two days of the state visit, appeared to white powder on her forehead and nose.

It's an unfortunate look that many celebrities have fallen victim to, including Angelina Jolie, Kate Winslet and Drew Barrymore.

The culprit is believed to be loose silica powder, which can create a flawless look in person but when hit by a camera flash, it bounces enough light to be show up in photographs.
