The 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards honored the best in U.S. prime time television programming from June 1, 2014 until May 31, 2015, as chosen by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
For the first time in the showâs six season history, HBOâs Game of Thrones took home the best drama series award on Sunday nightâs Emmy awards in Los Angeles, beating nine other competitors including AMCâs Mad Men.
The show racked up a record-breaking 12 awards from its 24 nominations, the most any series has won in a single year. The previous record holder was The West Wing which won nine awards at the 2000 Emmys.
