This particular episode revolves around a patient who is presumed to have smallpox, which in reality, is highly unlikely since the disease was eradicated. The show explains that smallpox only exists in a few medical labsa point that is true, according to Doctor Mike.
In the show, doctors order a smallpox test for every family member. In reality, this would never happen, says Doctor Mike. The patient undergoes testing to rule out a wide variety of other illnesses, like measles, which is the right call.
Later in the video when a patient suffers cardiac arrest, House automatically bypasses chest compression and reaches for the defibrillator, which is inaccurate.
"Even House fails us with the chest compressions," he says. "You don't shock flatline either House. You know better than that."
Doctors discover that the patient has Rickettsialpox , an illness caused by mite bites. House then takes off his protective gearwhile standing next to the patient's hospital bed after learning she doesn't have small pox.
"I still wouldn't take off my gear like that! My God, this is ridiculous. Infection control, people. This would never happen in any hospital."
