Doctors at a district local hospital in India have mysteriously remove a total of 70 metal needles from the legs of a 35-year-old widow who claimed to have been suffering the bizarre condition since 2012.
According to odditycentral.com, Anusuiya Devi could not get help until now, because doctors at the hospitals she had visited earlier did not believe her, and thought she probably inflicted the harm on herself.

This time round, she has her brother, who testified to her condition, leading to her getting attention.

Awadhesh Kumar told newsmen that âIt has been five years now and sheâs in so much pain every day. I am really stressed for her.
Dr. Naresh Vishal of the district government hospital at Fatehpur, where an X-ray was conducted Anusuiya Devi on October 25 said âShe came to us in a lot of pain. We did several X-rays including full body X-ray and we found 70 different kinds of iron needles in her legs below the knees.
âWe did a full body scan to see if there were nails in other parts of her body but there was nothing elsewhere. We only found needles in her legs, nowhere else.â

Dr. Vishal explained that âMedically, it is not possible for such needles to just develop in a humanâs body.
He added that âSo far we cannot confirm how the needles enter her body, but we suspect the patient has been self-harming. We need to determine whether the patient has any kind of a mental illness and she forcefully inserts them. I have never seen a case like this in my medical career. We spotted so many needles in her legs, we cannot understand how sheâs coped with the pain for so long. She will have suffered greatly.â
