Man dies after he slept with 3 electric fans blowing air at him

Sobthawee Boonkuas body failed to respond to the drastic drop in temperature at night, and he died of cold.

A 44-year-old man, Sobthawee Boonkua, has been reported dead after he slept on a cold floor with three electric fans blowing air at him.

Odditycentral.com reports that the man from Tambon Nai Muang, in Thailand’s Chaiyaphum province had gone to care for his 86-year-old mother at a relative’s house and decided to spend the night there.

However, out of fear that he might not be able to have a good sleep due to the heat, Sobthawee Boonkua chose to sleep on the floor with the three electric fans on at the same time.

Reports say he was found dead the next morning as a result of a drastic drop in temperature at night which his body could not adjust to.

A relative who found him dead called the ambulance and police. Lt. Colonel Thanasit Apiboonworaset of Muang Chaiyaphum police arrived at the scene along with a coroner.

After examining the corpse, it was determined that the man had died of a condition known as hypothermia.
