Paramount chief slaps subject who still feels pains in his ears
Odeifo Asankwa III did not deny assaulting his subject, but rather maintained the his conducts violate the laws of the land.

Kwaku Tawiah narrated to Accra-based Adom FM that his 16-year-old nephew died after suffering from an illness.
Tawiah claimed he had informed one of the sub-chiefs about the death and a permission was subsequently granted him by the paramount chief himself via a phone call, to go ahead with the burial of the young deceased, since he was under 18 years.

He said after the burial, Odeifo Asankwa III together with his linguist summoned him for query, but would not allow him to give any explanation.
He alleged that the paramount chief attacked and slapped him several times.
Kwaku Tawia said “the slaps have really affected me so I reported the matter to the police and I was given a medical form. I still feel pains in my ears.”

Responding to the allegations, Odeifo Asankwa III did not deny assaulting his subject, but rather maintained that “Someone died and he used his own will to bury the person. And the funeral committee have seen the forbidden act. I don’t know about it. He claimed I gave him permission but that is false. It’s a forbidden act. We tell the village folks that they can’t use their will to do things in the village. When he was asked he claimed he called me but I don’t know anything about the issUe.”
