This is what killed Soulama Abdoulaye

Abdoulaye Soulama was out of football and stayed in his hometown in Banfora before losing his life where he was receiving medical care.

Former Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Abdoulaye Soulama has been reported  dead on Friday at his native country Burkina Faso.

The ex-Burkinabe international passed away at 37 years old after a year-long battle with cancer, according to multiple reports in Burkina Faso.

Soulama was hospitalized at the beginning of the year at the Banfora regional hospital, however, according to relatives, his condition had improved and he had returned to his family in Bobo-Dioulasso, where he was still medically followed.

He will be buried in his hometown, Banfora early today per Islamic conventions.

Soulama started his career with Turkish side Denizlispor where played successful matches at the club which made it to the UEFA Cup that season.

He featured for both Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak and be remembered for his howler that caused the Phobians the three points in a Premier League fixture against Kotoko.
