Ghanaian midfielder rescues point for Persib Bandung

Persib had not tasted a win in their last five games in the championship, having won just one game and drawn four.

Michael Essien scored a late equalizer for Persib Bandung as they held in-form Bhayangkara United to a pulsating 1-1 stalemate in the Indonesian top flight league on Sunday morning.

They were close to tasting a defeat in front of their boisterous fans again the league leaders when Brazilian midfielder Paulo Sergio put the visitors ahead in the 27th minute.

But Essien rescued a point for his side with a close range shot in the 74th minute.

The former Chelsea ace was replaced with Atep Rizal on the 80th minute mark.
