<p>If 4 months ago you were getting up once in the middle of the night to pee and now youre getting up three times, thats a clue you need to get checked out, says Andrew Bremer, M.D., Ph.D., program director at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.</p>

<p>This may also be a symptom of prostate issues (such as an enlarged prostate). Either way, its best to bring the issue up with your doctor so he can rule out potential causes. </p>

<p><strong> 2. Your skin looks dirty. </strong></p>

<p>You notice dark patches of skin on the back of your neck, but no matter how hard you rub, they wont come off.</p>

<p>How come? Insulin resistance can cause a condition called acanthosis nigricans, which may appear during pre-diabetes.</p>

<p>The dark, velvety patches can ring your neck and also appear on your elbows and knees. Once you get your glucose under control, the patches will likely fade away.</p>

<p><strong> 3. Youre having trouble reading.  </strong></p>

<p>Having high blood sugar levels in the long term damages the tiny blood vessels in your retina, blurring your vision in one or both eyes. The medical term is diabetic retinopathy.</p>

<p>While a decade ago doctors thought only those with type 2 diabetes could develop the condition, they now know it can happen sooner.</p>

<p>In fact, nearly 8 percent of pre-diabetic people have diabetic retinopathy. Along with keeping your blood sugar under control to prevent progression of the disease, see an optometrist or ophthalmologist at least once a year for a dilated eye exam, suggests the American Diabetes Association.</p>

<p>The last time you had your BP checked, it was 140/90mmHG or above. Thats considered high blood pressure, and it puts you at a higher risk for developing diabetes. Left unchecked, the dynamic duo can damage your kidneys over time. </p>

<p><strong> DONT GET DIABETES </strong></p>

<p>These symptoms alone wont diagnose you with pre-diabetes. The only way to know is to go to your doctor and have your blood glucose levels measured, says Dr. Bremer.</p>

<p>If your doc delivers the bad news, do something about it. If you dont? Well, 15 to 30 percent of people with pre-diabetes develop the real thing within 5 years, according to the CDC.</p>

<p>If youve been with your partner for a while and are holding onto anger, its going to be difficult to feel all lusty for them. A woman needs to feel readily loved and connected to their partner. Resentment prevents you from feeling free to escape during sex, which is key to wanting and enjoying it, says Rapini. She suggests doing something nice together, like going to a movie, and then talking about your issue after. Its a nice way to break the ice and have an honest conversation.</p>

<h1> Youre not feeling great about your body </h1>

<p>Its probably not a shocker to have this on the list, but it's worth keeping in mind. Practicing self-acceptance is helpful, certainly. She says that when youre a serial dater, youre continually searching for that perfect partner to knock your socks off. If getting in and out of <a href="https://www.womenshealthmag.com/relationships/" id="c879e764-e24e-3e6f-aaf3-ee8e652516a1">  relationships </a> seems easy, you may also be dealing with an underlying fear of intimacy. And listen, theres 100 percent nothing wrong with exploring and having fun. You do you. Just pay attention to your why.</p>

<p>Its easy to blame hormones if youre not all hot in the sheets these days. Not so fast. The lesson: Taking the pill doesnt determine your bedroom destiny, so if you're having issues, it's time to seek out the real cause.</p>

<h1> Your partner is looking at other women </h1>

<p>Yeah, it makes you angryWTF. But really, it hurts, and makes you want to do anything but jump in bed. You should definitely tell your partner you dont like when they do things like check out other women or Google women right in front of you. Express that it makes you feel bad about yourself, and it lowers your sex drive, says Rapini. When guys hear that, they listen, she adds. Oh, and its not a bitch move to do ittelling them what you want is anything but nagging or controlling.</p>

<p>Certain medications and underlying medical problems, like <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21532331" id="e1575496-920e-3598-a717-e46605b68977">  thyroid disorders </a> , can squash your sex drive. If relationship issues arent a factor and youve been grappling with other symptoms (like a change in <a href="https://www.womenshealthmag.com/food/g19939303/appetite-suppressant-foods/" id="f5d20a1f-de86-36f8-a26c-415beb7328b5">  appetite </a> or mood), see your doctor. They may be able to evaluate your Rxs to see if youre taking anything that has sexual side effects, as well as consider if theres a medical issue that should be addressed. Your libido isnt just all in your head.</p>

<p>That brings us to our next point. Rapini sees many women in their mid-thirties who tell her that their partner is a great husband and dad, but theyre not great in bed. I ask them to evaluate how important that is for them, she says. You may want a family right now, so dad skills win out over bedroom skills. The remedy: Speak up about what you want in the bedroom, to help get his abilities on point.</p>

Shockingly, in long-term relationships, more women than men are likely to get bored, she adds.
