His death was sudden because he had left Takoradi to Elmina to embark on his duties in coordinating media affairs regarding Elmina Sharks game against Heart of Oak on Sunday, but he never lived to see the next day.
Mohammed until his death was a radio presenter in Takoradi and aside being the media officer of the Nduom Sports Stadium, Elmina, he has been working as well as the venue media officer of the Essipong Sports Stadium in Sekondi.

The death of Aminu Mohammed is a big blow to the football fraternity, looking at the vital role has been playing to promote the sport over the years.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has sent its sincere condolence to the family members of the deceased.
