The regional Minister, Alhaji Amidu Sulemana, gave the directive on Thurday after nurses and doctors at the facility demonstrated over the appointment of a new medical director, Accra-based Joy FM has reported.
Staff of the Hospital on Monday laid down their tools in protest against the appointment of one Dr. Gandaa, a lecturer at the UDS Medical School, as the Medical Director of the facility.
According to the striking health workers, one Dr. Chris Fofie who they believe worked tirelessly for the facility should have been given the appointment to lead the hospital as the Medical Director.
They further alleged that Dr. Fofie was denied the position because of his ethnicity.
Health delivery at the facility has currently come to a halt following the strike by the health workers.
This is not the first time a regional hospital is complaining about the appointment of hospital managers in public health institutions.
