According to Catherine Afeku, the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the 5th edition of the music festival and awards scheme will be hosted in Ghana for three years and the government has an amount to pump into it.
Catherine told Hitz FM on Friday, November 23, that AFRIMA is an opportunity for Ghana to boost its tourism and creative arts.

She revealed that “Government is supporting the event with $4.5 million for the three years but for this year, we are spending $ 700,000.”
She also disclosed that apart from AFRIMA, the government is lending support to popular Ghanaian annual arts festival, Chalewote Art Festival.
She said the organisers received funding from government and the same help will be given to various traditional festivals in the country, Ghana Music Awards, among others.
