Months of intense campaign ends today as millions of people in the United States of America make a choice between Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton and Republican candidate Donald Trump.

The latest polls before voting put Clinton 4 points ahead in an election which is being closely contested. Clinton's poll rating dropped after FBI director James Comey told congress about newly discovered emails which were though to be pertinent to the investigation of Clinton using personal email servers when she was Secretary of State.

Trump inched ahead slightly in polls conducted after the FBI director's announcement, after his inability to recover from the numerous sexual assault allegations against hiim.

But this changed after FBI director Comey again announced on Sunday there isn't enough in the emails discovered to incriminate Clinton.

If Hillary wins she will make history as the first woman to be president of the free world.

U.S media is reporting that the weather is expected to be clear for voting to take place.  The weather according to forecasters will be mild not affecting the process.

While it is pretty clear what will happen to the  USA if Trump or Clinton wins, it is hard to say what will happen to Ghana if Trump wins. In this piece written by Pulse Ghana's Stacey Knott  communications lecturer at the University of Ghana breaks down what  a Trump win will mean for Ghana.

Pulse Ghana will bring you all you need to know as voting unfolds until the results are announced.
