Stephen Appiah blasts celebrities who live fake lifestyles
Former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah has laid into so-called celebrities who prioritize showing off over impacting on the society.
The former Fernabache midfielder believes celebrities should be inspiring others to reach their full potential rather than craving for attention on social media.
In his view, many Ghanaian celebrities live “fake lifestyles” by pretending to own flashy things, which in actual fact are not theirs.
In an interview with Joy News, Appiah said: “Some of the comments are very funny to me, people eat in the restaurant and take pictures of their food and post them on social media.
“If you are a celebrity, there’s no need to do certain things. Some celebrities live fake lifestyles. I always focus on the captions on my social media page to inspire people.”
The Black Stars team coordinator also revealed that there were certain so-called celebrities who act as big personalities on social media, only to run to him later asking for favours.
According to him, “people live certain lifestyles that means they are not being themselves. If I see them posting pictures, acting as big personalities and turn back to ask me for a favour, I will never stretch out.”
He added that it’s high time celebrities began to inspire society with their reputation rather than focusing all their attention on fame.
