Dancehall artiste dead

The artiste died Sunday, October 23 at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra after he was involved in an accident on the Tema Motorway.

Dancehall artiste Vybrant Faya has died.

The artiste died Sunday, October 23 at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra after he was involved in an accident on the Tema Motorway.

Management of the artiste have confirmed the news of his death.

A statement released and signed by Kelly Nii Lartey Mensah, a member of Shatta Movement Family (SMF) Communication said the management team had met with Vybrant on Sunday afternoon, but soon after received news he was in hospital.

“We are shocked and in total state of sorrow.

We met with Vybrant and some of his family members on Sunday afternoon around 3pm and had a rather good discussion. Few hours after their departure we had a telephone call that Vybrant Faya had been admitted at the 37 Military Hospital after being involved in an accident.”

A team from SMF went to the hospital only to find Vybrant, who was 33, had died.

“We are grief-stricken and cannot hold back our tears. Our deep condolences to the family," the statement said.

Vybrant Faya is known in the Ghanaian music circle for his hit song, “Mambi”. He also came to the spotlight when he had a misunderstanding with colleague dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale over the copyright and patenting of the fan base name “Shatta Movement”.

He is known in real life as Emmanuel Kojo Quayson.
