Cheating is common as many partners ‘expose’ and ‘betray’ spouses - Counsellor Adumatta

Marriage from the onset was presented to mankind as a ‘covenant’, rather than the ‘contract’ that has become a norm, and in ways like a cankerworm has eaten deep, thus, causing problems here and there.

While there is no universal percentage of married couples that cheat, infidelity is a significant issue in marriages, with studies indicating that between 25% and 60% of people will cheat at some point in their marriages, depending on how "cheating" is defined and the looked at.

“A lot of us from the word, ‘go’, have broken vows because we did not marry virgins. I’m sorry to say this, but it’s a lingering truth that a thriving marriage can only stand if you marry as a virgin - that’s where the covenant comes in, thus, ‘no sex before marriage’ is an order from God.” He added.

The counselor who offers advice on personal, marital, and family issues, chipped in that, “a lot of marriages make the mistakes of assumptions which lead to bitterness, and so on.”
