Alexis Pinturault maintained his magnificent giant slalom form in Kranjska Gora by storming to a fourth consecutive FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup win in the discipline to stay in the hunt for the crystal globe with two races remaining.
The Frenchman won both races in Hinterstoder last weekend after also claiming victory in Japan last month and his giant slalom dominance continued in Slovenia on Friday
Pinturault set the pace with a time of 54.52 seconds in the first run and then clocked 57.66 secs to finish almost half a second faster than Philipp Schoerghofer.
Overall and giant slalom leader Marcel Hirscher filled the podium 0.69 secs off the pace, so the Austrian now leads Pinturault by 91 points in the discipline standings and holds an overall advantage of 293 over Henrik Kristoffersen.

Hirscher's third-placed finish ensured he moved level with legendary Italian Alberto Tomba on the men's list of all-time World Cup podium finishes, having now been in the top three on an incredible 88 occasions.
Pinturault is the seventh man to string together four giant slalom wins in a row and the first Frenchman to achieve that feat since Jean-Claude Killy back in 1967.
Schoerghofer was also second after the first run, while Felix Neureuther failed to finish the second run after the German was third-fastest in the first.
