Former Sharks captain Keegan Daniel will return to the Super Rugby franchise for the 2016 season.

The loose forward left the Durban outfit following the 2014 Super Rugby campaign to join Japanese side Kubota Spears.

Daniel, 30, will now spend a second spell with the club that he captained 59 times and made 199 appearances for prior to making the move to Japan.

Sharks director of rugby Gary Gold said: "Keegan's record at the Cell C Sharks speaks volumes about the impact he had at this franchise as well as the calibre of player he is.

"We look forward to welcoming him home."
