Frankie Dettori treated a huge crowd to yet another flying dismount following a stunning victory aboard the impressive Galileo Gold in the St James's Palace Stakes after Tepin struck a blow for America on day one of Royal Ascot.
Exuberant jockey Dettori claimed his 53rd winner at the world-famous meeting in Berkshire when 2,000 Guineas winner Galileo Gold showed a blistering turn of foot to score at 6-1 on Tuesday.
Galileo Gold charged home a length ahead of French Guineas winner The Gurkha, an odds-on favourite, and Irish Guineas victor Awtaad was back in third in a pulsating Group One race.
While Dettori has racked up over half a century of Royal Ascot successes, trainer Hugo Palmer was able to celebrate a first courtesy of a brilliant run from Galileo Gold.

"It was a tough challenge, he got the most magnificent ride from the widest draw," said Palmer "It's fair to say he's the best three-year-old colt in Europe."
He added: "Frankie managed to get him into the most magnificent rhythm and then the horse just galloped and galloped and galloped."
Breeders' Cup Mile winner Tepin lit up the grey skies on a rainy opening day of five at Ascot, becoming the first horse from outside Europe to take the Queen Anne Stakes.
The American filly, priced at 11-2, allayed concerns over the softening ground by bolting up and staying on strongly to win the opening race of the meeting in France-born jockey Julien Leparoux's first ride in Europe.
The rapid Tepin, trained by Mark Casse, held off the challenge of joint-favourite Belardo half a length, with Lightning Spear third.
Adam Kirby rode Profitable to victory in the Group One King's Stand Stakes just a couple of hours after his girlfriend gave birth to son Charlie and the jockey was reduced to tears in a post-race interview with Channel 4.
Caravaggio justified favouritism by storming home under Ryan Moore, who rode a record nine victories at Royal Ascot last year, in the Coventry Stakes, while Jennies Jewel and Ardad won the Ascot Stakes and Windsor Castle Stakes respectively.
