HjK Helsinki defender Gideon Baah has joined New York Red Bulls for the upcoming 2016 Major League Soccer season, the MLS team announced Tuesday.
Red Bulls’ sporting director Ali Curtis toldNewYorkRedBulls.com that Baah has all the characteristics the club were looking for in a central defender and that they were eager to get him into training.
Baah’s Finnish League career includes 70 appearances for HJK Helsinki and FC Honka, where he scored four goals and added seven assists.
MLS kicks off its season on March 6, when the Red Bulls will host Michael Bradley and Toronto FC.
