How to prepare salad the healthy way

You complete guide to preparing a different kind of salad the Ghanaian way. And ow, it is healthy too.

And yes it is totally possible to enjoy your salad without mayonnaise.

Here’s what I call the ‘Ghana a la Salad’, a healthy, colorful and tasty way to enjoy your salads.

1/2 cup cherry tomatoes

1 large tomato(core removed and diced into wedges)

2 medium-sized cucumbers (peeled and sliced horizontally)

Spring onion (finely chopped)

1 small red onion (sliced)

I cup mixed bell peppers(red, green and yellow)

1/2 tbsp black pepper -optional

Preparation

Wash the lettuce leaves in salt or vinegar solution.

Pat them with a clean napkin or paper napkin to absorb excess moisture.

Tear the lettuce leaves into bite-sized pieces with your hands into a large salad bowl.

Add the cucumber, cherry tomatoes, tomato wedges, onions, and peppers.

Sprinkle with a little black pepper to taste.

Now for the dressing

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp Balsamic vinegar

2 tbsp refined/clear honey

1 large garlic clove (crushed and chopped)

Preparation

Whisk oil, vinegar, honey and garlic in a bowl.

Drizzle on salad!
