Jonathan Davies to make Scarlets return

Jonathan Davies said "the time is right" for him to head back home to join Scarlets after agreeing to return to Wales.

Wales centre Jonathan Davies will rejoin Scarlets from top 14 side Clermont Auvergne at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old, who toured Australia with the British and Irish Lions in 2014, left Ospreys to join Clermont on a two-year deal iin 2014 but has now opted to return home.

Davies has agreed a National Dual Contract with his former club Scarlets and the Welsh Rugby Union (RFU) and is looking forward to returning to the Pro12 club where he made his name.

"I am delighted to have signed a National Dual Contract and to be returning to the Scarlets," he said."I have immensely enjoyed my time in France and would like to thank Clermont Auvergne for the opportunity."The joint commitment between the WRU and Regions is driving for success and I believe the time is right to return to Wales and signing a NDC is the best decision for me rugby wise."

Davies has won 48 caps for Wales but missed this year's Rugby World Cup due to a knee injury.
