Dr. Henry Lartey leads GCPP in 2016 presidential elections

The over 2,500 delegates converged at the Kumasi cultural centre for the national congress of the party to elect a flag bearer for the 2016 general elections and national officers to man the party for the next four years.

The Great Consolidated Popular Party has electedDr. Henry Herbert Lartey as its Presidential candidate for 2016 general  elections.

The congress, which was attended by over 2,500 delegates in Kumasi also elected 22 national executives by popular acclamation.

The flag bearer of the party, Dr Henry Lartey, said the party will focus on energy generation based on solar .

Other positions included the national chairman , which was won by Dr Henry Lartey, first national Vice Chairman, John Amekah, who automatically becomes the running mate of the party per their constitution.

The second vice chairperson went to Andelina Denis, General Secretary , Frederick Ato Dadzie, national treasurer ,Quarshie Flitcher Lartey, National Organizer George Amoah .

Women’s organizer went to Sandra Boateng while Rossevel Anni Kofie was elected Education Secretary with Jude Bamba as the National Youth Organizer.

Meanwhile, the party has concluded all constituency and regional elections to pave way for the national delegates’ congress.

Each of the 275 constituencies represented by eight delegates plus regional officers and 50 delegates from various campuses of the tertiary institutions in the country and all national officers.
