New Abetifi MP sworn in

The newly elected Member of Parliament for the Abetifi Constituency, Bryan Acheampong, was on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 sworn in by the Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho.

Mr Acheampong polled 14,015 votes out of the total of 15, 577 votes to be elected MP.

Vida Konadu Enim of Independent People’s Party (IPP) polled 469 votes while the Convention People’s Party (CPP) Edmund Nkansah polled 439 votes.

The United Front Party’s Kenneth Kotey Nikoi managed 406.

The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) however did not contest the election.
