President John Dramani Mahama has condemned the current wrangling within the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), which has caused the death of a supporter at Asawase in the Ashanti region.

Addressing a gathering in the Upper West region, President Mahama said “I told the police to pursue justice to its final conclusion. Recently another supporter was stabbed, it's not acceptable. I have asked the police to investigate those who did it and bring it to book. There is no place in our politics for this kind of violence. No amount of political power is worth the drop of blood of any single Ghanaian."He added that “Politics is not a life and death struggle. Politics is live and let’s live.”

Abubakar Saddiq, 30, was stabbed to death last week in protest over comments made by the Chairman of the Constituency.

The incident happened after the deceased had gone to the constituency office on hearing the office had been ransacked but was attacked and murdered by unknown assailants.
