President Mahama has promised to increase the amount for medical equipment to the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital in the Upper East Region from two million to eight million dollars.
Inspecting expansion work on the regional hospital, President Mahama said the increment is to ensure effective healthcare service delivery to the people in the region and across the country.

The expansion work, which is estimated at a cost of 10.5 million dollars, is scheduled to be completed by March 2016.
Meanwhile, the increment in the amount will bring the hospital's bed capacity to 175 and ensure the provision of equipment for plastic surgery, kidney transplant, autopsy and life support equipment.
