Adeleke who had previously spent some years in prison prior to the five year term, was arrested by police from the Oyo State Police Command on November 4 in Oyo Town.

The State Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade, while parading the suspect at the Police Headquarter, said Adeleke had blocked the road while waiting for his victim, Azeez Saheed, who was returning from the farm at Abu Village, where he stabbed the unsuspecting victim with broken bottles.

“The suspect barricaded the road with logs of wood waiting for the suspect. He tried to overpower his victim by stabbing him with a broken bottle but despite his injury, the victim raised the alarm which eventually led to his arrest,” the police boss said.

On why he went back to the same crime that sent him to jail, Adeleke said:

“I spent five years in prison and I was just released. I was hungry after leaving prison recently. I had no relation to feed me in Oyo, so I took to robbery again.”
