15-yr-old student stabbed to death by teenage robber

Keshawn Brooks, a 15-yr-old student, was on his way home when a teenage criminal attacked and killed him with a knife in broad daylight.

A 15-yr-old student, Keshawn Brooks, has been stabbed to death on his way home from school.

Brooks was killed in an unprovoked attack near Stephens Middle School, located at Santa Fe Avenue and West Columbia, Southern California.

According to reports, Brooks was accosted by his killer, 18-year-old Giovanny Montelongo, as he walked home.

Montelego had tried to take the deceased's bag and stabbed him in the ensuing struggle.

Horrified parents and students watched the attack and one of them called 911 while others attended to the bleeding victim.

Brooks was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead.

His killer was in police net a few hours later.

According to CBS Los Angeles, the student's father, Keeyon Brooks, said his son was murdered and his killing is not linked to any gang.

"My son was not a gang member,” Brooks Sr. said.

“This was a murder.

"And to the people who came to his aid, I would like to thank you, very much.

"It pleases me that he was not alone during his time of death.”

Police are still trying to find out the relationship between Brooks and his killer.
