Two men have been arrested by the Winneba District police command for allegedly breaking into the New Beginning Revival Church at Winneba in the Central Region and stealing various items worth GH¢2,247.00.
The culprits made away with three plastic tables, 15 yards woollen carpet, an office table, two coffee tables, three curtains, six boxes of wall tiles and eleven Wawa boards.
According to the Winneba District Police Commander Superintendent Godfred Tetteh Adjirakor, the two suspects, who are also siblings, broke into the church premises and made away with the items mentioned above on June 11, 2016.
The complainant Pastor Isaac Assafuah–Arthur reported the matter to the police immediately.
Superintendent Tetteh Adjirakor also revealed that a search conducted in the house of the suspects led to the retrieval of six plastic chairs, one plastic table, 15 yards of woollen carpet, an office chair, a table, 2 coffee tables, 3 curtains and 3 boxes of wall tiles – all belonging to the church.
Meanwhile, the total value of items which is yet to be retrieved has been estimated to be GH¢1,311.00.
