Trump just told African leaders the hard truth. This is what he said

This, he told more than a dozen African leaders gathered for a luncheon at the United Nations.

"I congratulate you. Theyarespending a lot of money.For American firms, it's reallybecome a placethattheyhavetogo, thattheywanttogo.Six of the world's 10 fastest growingeconomiesare in Africa," Trump added.

The president highlighted his administration's work toward fighting terrorism in Africa, further developing the focus on U.S. counter-terror measures that has permeated many of his public appearances at the United Nations General Assembly gathering this week.

He noted terrorist groups operating in Africa including the Islamic State and Boko Haram who threaten African peace.

Trump also revealed the praises showered on him by the African leaders for the way his administration has worked to eradicate terrorism in African countries.

"A number of you have told me, actually last night, that we have been doing a very good job, over the last six or seven months in particular," he said.
