Google released its annual Year in Search list and, predictably, the top trending people of 2015 were also subjects of the year’s biggest controversies.
The end is near for 2017, and on Wednesday, December 13, Google released its list of most searched terms, broken into categories. While some of the names on the list were definitely surprising. From scandals, to trendy hastags, these were the most talked about celebrities for 2017.
1. Afia Shwarzenegger
The TV personality, Afia Shwarzenegger led the list for most searched celebrities for the obvious reason; the infamous scandal. The tabloids never complete without news on her being caught on camera with another man by husband. The media fuzzed about it a lot.
2. Ebony
Hate her or love her, the dance hall artiste ruled in 2017. She stood as the most talked about celebrity and the most relevant in the music industry.

3.Medikal
Expectancy for his win for the 'Artist of the year' for the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) was high as he thrilled many Ghanaians with his 'Anthem' song. Turbles turned and he that caused tons of conversations on the internet.
4. Kaba
The late Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong also made the list to this years most searched celebrities too. His death came as a shock to the whole of Ghana.
5.YahyaJammeh
Yahya Abdul-Aziz Jemus Junkung Jammeh is a Gambian politician and former military officer who was the leader of the Gambia from 1994 to 2017, firstly as chair of the Armed Forces Provisional Ruling Council and then as President of the Gambia.

6. Nana AkuffoAddo
His Excellency,Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo ,the President of Ghana, came to office since January 2017.
7.CaptainMahama
He was a captain in the military who was killed by a mob at Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region, after he was mistakenly considered an armed robber. The news of his demise got the whole of Ghana disturbed. His death aslo garnered media attention from all parts of the world.
8.ChristopherOpoku
After his four years battle with cancer, the Sports journalist Christopher Opoku has died leaving behind a wife, Vivian, and three girls.
9. BukomBanku
Braimah Isaac Kamoko also known as Bukom Banku is a Ghanaian professional boxer who until 20 October 2017 had an undefeated record of 28-0-0 (21 K0). On 21 October however, he suffered a defeat to Bastie Samir at the Bukom Boxing Arena in a seventh round knock out after he had promised to knock Bastie out in the sixth round. 28-0-1 (21 K0).
10.Runtown
Douglas Jack Agu, better known by his stage name Runtown, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer. He has a diverse musical style mix of hip-hop, R&B, reggae and rap.
