KKD withdraws support for gay son?
His post on Facebook backing the sexual orientation of his son, which was public and could be accessed by his Facebook friends, has been made private.

By making his post private, he is the only one who can see it, although the post has been widely reported.
It is unclear if his latest decision was due to public pressure because Ghana is among countries with strong anti-gay views.

In his post, KKD said he has no problem with the choice of his son, Darkwah Kyei-Darkwah, being gay, adding that he respects his decision to go public about sexuality.
“And yes I love him, I admonish him, I scold him and I celebrate him as a loving father,” he noted.
“His statement of his conviction and comfort with himself as a young man is a matter of an individual’s sexuality. Come joy or pain, sunshine or rain, success or failure, I will always love my son Darkwah Kyei-Darkwah and my daughter Ohemaa Asokwa Kyei-Darkwah,” KKD stressed.

"Whilst the culture in which I was raised influenced me to lean towards raising my children as Asante, Christian, well-mannered, audacious, industrious, cosmopolitan and heterosexual, I do not consider it my place to pontificate, praise or condemn the sexuality any adult identifies with," he said.
