“I am happy to inform you that conclusively government together with its social partners namely Minister of Finance, leaders of Public Sector Workers Union, the Ghana Prisons Service, and the Ghana Police Service have concluded negotiation on base pay increases up to 12.5 percent,” he said.

Government announced that the minimum wage will be increased by GHC0.80 pesewas at a tripartite meeting, after member of the Government Hospital Pharmacists Association embarked on a strike action to demand for interim market premium allowances.

Patients in dire need of some medications have been left to their fate due to the strike.

He believes the best way out of the current impasse between the NLC and GHOSPA would be for Association to understand government's position on payment of market premium this year.
