7 dead, 132 injured from gas explosion – Government confirms
The statement said out of the 132 injured persons, 64 of them have been treated and discharged.

The statement, signed by the Minister of Information, Mustapha Hamid, was released shortly after the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, visited victims of the accident at the 37 Military Hospital and the Police Hospital where they were rushed to.
An investigation has been commenced into the cause of the explosion, the statement said, adding: “and shall be followed with firm action to forestall future similar occurrences.

"Any injured persons who may have been evacuated from the scene on their own should kindly inform the Ghana Police Hospital of their location," the statement said.
Earlier, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said the death toll was six and the injured persons, 35.
About 200 police officers and 12 fire tenders were deployed to douse the fire which stated around 7:30pm at a Goil filing station and spread to a Total petrol station across the street at Atomic Junction.

The gas explosion is the second to have rocked the nation following the June 3 fire and flood disaster about 120 people seeking shelter at a Goil filing station at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle.
