Nana Addo Leads 'Dumsor' Demonstration

The much awaited "Won Gbo" demonstration by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is currently underway in Accra with Nana Addo leading the protest.

Scores of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters converged on Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle for the “Wɔn Gbo” demonstration scheduled for Wednesday.

Many of them are clad in red with placards ready to hit the streets.

Some of the placards wielded by the protestors read: “Children are dying b’cos of dumsor, ‘Cold store adwuma Egu’, ‘John, stop throwing lies’, ‘Won Gbo Mahama’, ‘Enka Mills Mpo Y3’, ‘Mahama vrs Corruption vrs Stealing’ 'Sikadie basa basa', 'Drop that Yam' etc.

Nana Akufo Addo is leading the supporters to demonstrate over what the party describe as government’s poor handling of the energy crisis and the economic hardships in the country.

The “Wɔn Gbo” demonstration meaning “we are dying,” is has drawn a large crowd of people into the streets of Accra and other parts of the country.

Some Members of Parliament of the NPP are clad in their red shirts and red band.

Members of pressure group, OccupyGhana have also thrown their weight behind the demonstration.

Some disgruntled youth of the ruling NDC have also joined the wagon holding a banner with bold writings, “Disappointed NDC Youth Cross Over To NPP”.

The youth however expressed their disappointment in the Mahama-led administration for doing “absolutely” nothing to resolve the powers crisis which has left many in real difficulties.
