Georgina Wood must thank God NDC didn’t force her out of office - Ofosu Ampofo

His comments come on the back of claims by Mrs Wood that she almost resigned from her position during the late Prof. Atta Mills’ era.

According to him, Mrs Wood should rather commend the NDC for working with her when they had the power to ask her to leave.

She said she had been sailing on stormy waters over the last decade, and it took close associates and God to keep her afloat.

Speaking during a Thanksgiving Service at the Ringway Assemblies of God church to celebrate her 70th birthday, the former Chief Justice indicated that elements in the former Atta Mills government put pressure on her to resign but she managed to succeed in office due to prayer and supplication from relatives and colleagues.

But in a response on Accra-based Asempa FM, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo said he was shocked about the comments from Mrs Wood, adding that “She [Mrs Wood] should thank God we tolerated her and allowed her to work till her retirement.”

He claimed that the NDC was able to tolerate her and did not behave like the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) which he claimed had forced the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Common Funds Administrator, and others out of office.
