Tim Tebow's much-publicised baseball audition on Tuesday drew mixed reviews, but the Atlanta Braves apparently liked what they saw.

The 29-year-old former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL quarterback raised eyebrows in early August when he said he wanted to pursue a baseball career. A former high school star, he had not played since his junior year in high school in 2005.

Tebow worked out before representatives from 28 of the 30 MLB teams in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Afterwards, reps from the Braves and four other teams talked with Tebow, according to ESPN, with the Braves interested in a minor-league deal.

Tebow's workout included plate appearances against former MLB reliever Chad Smith, with Tebow getting one hit in six plate appearances.

While the Braves may be interested, other scouts were not impressed. One scout told USA Today, "It was a complete waste of time. It was like watching an actor trying to portray a baseball player."
